I had very high expectations but they were exceeded!
I had the opportunity to complete the Brooks Range Expedition with two of my Grandsons and my Son in Law, three generations enjoying the exquisite, desolate, and amazingly beautiful arctic wonderland with AWA. The sled dogs were amazing, the Brooks Range is remarkable and the adventure was invigorating. These four days in the wild with a sled dog team was one of the top experiences of my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Peggy, Torsten and Sven are wonderful people who I love to spend more time with on another adventure. They organized the expedition to be fun and challenging while giving us space to learn, grow with each day while ensuring our needs were met. I cannot recommend them highly enough as each of them are very experienced, competent, quality individuals and a whole boatload of fun. This was the most epic and profound adventure of my life.
Running a dog sled team 120 miles in the Brooks Range above the Arctic Circle was ridiculous. And, I was fortunate to do it with my two sons and father-in-law, which made it even more memorable. The dogs are awesome – you’ll definitely want to take one or six of them home with you. Sven, Peggy and Torsten are a fantastic team – they made our trip fun, challenging and comfortable (even in -30-degree temperatures). And, the backdrop is incredible – snow capped mountains in every direction, sledding through majestic river valleys and Northern Lights if you have the energy to stay up. If you want to go on a genuinely remarkable adventure, go with AWA.
